The KSCB Handbook offers our students and parents an understanding of the commitment and responsibility required to train at KSCB. All students and parents are required to abide by the rules and guidelines in the handbook. The rules are to ensure the environment is conducive to students’ learning and development. All registered families will receive the Parent and Student Handbook. Please keep your copy as a reference during the year. You will be required to sign and return the Handbook Acknowledgement form.
KSCB’s primary method of communicating information to parents and students will be through email. With the exception of inclement weather notifications, all updates and announcements will be sent by email, will be posted on the studio bulletin boards, and will be posted on our Facebook page. It will be the responsibility of the student and his/her family to stay informed of all school announcements.
Students are required to attend all scheduled classes. Attendance will be taken at every class. Students should avoid disrupting class by entering late or leaving early. Students more then 15 minutes late to any class will be asked to sit and observe. Students who must leave class early should get permission from the faculty prior to the beginning of class.
For students participating in any KSCB performances, all rehearsals are mandatory. It is the performer’s responsibility to stay updated on rehearsal schedules. KSCB reserves the right to alter or dismiss performers based on attendance, conduct, or attitude.
KSCB follows the Shawnee Mission Public School District policy. If Shawnee Mission Public Schools are closed or close early, then KSCB classes are cancelled.
If Shawnee Mission Public Schools cancel all after school activities, then KSCB classes are cancelled also. If there are only delays in the morning, we will still have classes that afternoon/evening.
Students are registering for the full year. Only exception is students in Creative Movement and Pre-Ballet who have the option to enroll for the fall, spring, or both semesters.
All tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable, except in the event of a serious illness or injury. Requests for refunds must be accompanied by a doctor’s certificate of inability to continue class. Refunds will be prorated accordingly.
There are no refunds for classes missed.
